Explore General Studies Degree Options with an Individualized Degree Online

The Individualized Degree Program (IDP) at MSU Denver offers you the opportunity to explore interdisciplinary studies and general studies degree options to propose a major or minor specifically designed to meet your educational goals if those goals cannot be met by an existing major or minor in the MSU Denver catalog. Students work with an IDP advisor to evaluate their completed courses, examine possible paths to graduation, discuss their interests, and ultimately design their own degrees.

Here are a few reasons to earn your bachelor’s through an Online Individualized Degree:

  • Combine previous and/or transfer credits with future coursework that is offered online for an efficient path to graduation.
  • Create your own major or minor by combining online courses from departments across the University and relevant transfer credits for a major or minor that reflects your interests.
  • Collaborate with a faculty advisor and the Center for Individualized Learning to meet your specific educational goals not met by other majors/minors at the university.

The Individualized Degree Program (IDP) is an academically robust, interdisciplinary studies degree program. Students earn either a B.A. or B.S., depending on their coursework. Students with interdisciplinary degrees are poised to further their careers or enter graduate programs.

Note: There are some restrictions for students with a high number of credits in certain programs. Contact an IDP Specialist to learn if IDP is the right fit for you.

Interested in Online General Studies Degree or Multidisciplinary Studies Degree options?

IDP also offers a pathway similar to General Studies or Multidisciplinary Studies Degree options offered at other institutions. However, there are some restrictions. Meet with an IDP Specialist for more information.
