Non-Degree Seeking

Non-degree seeking students have the option to take up to 9 credit hours of coursework (i.e., three courses) on a space available basis. Non-degree seeking students eligible to enroll in MPAcc courses include:

• Students with a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited college or university with a 3.0 GPA (cumulative or last 60 hours);
• Students with a bachelor’s degree and approved professional examination or licensure;
• Students currently admitted to a graduate business program at another regionally accredited college or university; and/or
• Students with a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited college or university with an admissions GMAT index score >1,000.

Please note: If you come from a non-business background, you should have experience with computer spreadsheet applications and database management (e.g. Microsoft Excel and Access). You should also have a working knowledge of the basic tools of business calculus.

If a non-degree seeking student would like to become degree-seeking, the student must apply to become degree-seeking and must have earned an average GPA of 3.0 or above in the MPAcc program courses they have completed. Students currently admitted to another graduate program at MSU Denver may take a limited number of MPAcc courses to fulfill their degree requirements. Applicants in this category must submit a letter from their dean or academic advisor stating that they are in good academic standing and that the requested business courses will be accepted for their graduate degree program.

1. Submit and complete your online application by, or before, the application deadlines above, by submitting the following:

• Fillable information about yourself
• No application fee for domestic applicants until October 1, 2024!

2. Submit Official Transcripts from all previously attended colleges or universities.

• Applicants should send official, electronic transcripts to [email protected] from the issuing institution. Scanned copies, PDFs or photos sent by the applicant or any third party are not accepted.
• MSU Denver official transcripts, or transcripts previously submitted to the university, do not need to be re-requested. The application system will acknowledge MSU Denver records and/or previously submitted transcripts 8-10 business days after the application is submitted.
• International transcripts must also have an official English translation done by a certified translator and a professional course-by-course evaluation showing equivalency to a U.S. bachelor’s degree.

  • The evaluation company should provide the official evaluation to [email protected] at the applicant’s request.

3. Submit Proof of Completion of one of the following items:

• Proof of bachelor’s degree (or higher) from a from a regionally accredited college or university with a GPA 3.0+ (cumulative or last 60 hours)
• Proof of successful completion of the professional examination or licensure
• Proof of successful admission to a graduate business program at another regionally accredited college or university
